Free CogAT practice test for Grade 7CogAT Level 13/14
Grade 7 children sit Level 13/14, the level many districts use to place students in middle school advanced and accelerated classes, such as honors or accelerated math. The parts are the same length as Levels 10 to 12, ten minutes each, but the questions reach further: less common words, rules with two steps, and two holes punched through two folds.

Tips
Getting ready for Grade 7
- Read the clue words in sentence completion first: "although", "unlike" and "but" often flip the meaning.
- Number rules often take two steps here, such as add 3 and then multiply by 2. Test both steps on both example pairs before you trust a rule.
- In verbal analogies, name the link exactly. "A botanist studies plants" works for an astronomer; "a botanist likes plants" does not.
