Free NWEA MAP Growth practice test for Grade 5Math 2-5, Reading 2-5 and Language 2+

Grade 5 is the top of Math 2-5 and Reading 2-5, and Language 2+ goes on through the grades above. Math covers adding and multiplying fractions, decimals to thousandths, volume, the coordinate plane and order of operations. Reading asks about theme, point of view and how an author backs up a point, across stories, poems, plays and nonfiction. Language adds perfect verb tenses, pairs such as either and or, commas after an opening word, and how to write the title of a book or song.

Tips

Getting ready for Grade 5

  • Line up decimal points before you add or subtract.
  • For volume, count the layers: length times width, times height.
  • In Reading, find the sentence that proves an answer before choosing it.
  • In Language, time words such as already or by next week tell you which verb tense fits.
  • Read each word problem twice and underline what it asks for.
