WA Gifted and Talented
The Academic Selective Entrance Test (ASET) decides Year 7 places in Western Australia's Gifted and Talented secondary programmes, including Perth Modern School. Children sit it in Year 6, on paper: Reading Comprehension, Communicating Ideas in Writing, Quantitative Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning, each counting equally. Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 sit the same tests for a place in Year 8, 9 or 10.
