Australian Maths Competition

The Australian Maths Competition (AMC) is a 30-question maths competition that schools in every state enter their students for each August. Each division covers two school years: Middle Primary (Years 3-4), Upper Primary (5-6), Junior (7-8), Intermediate (9-10) and Senior (11-12). The first 25 questions have five choices and the last 5 take a whole-number answer, with marks rising from 3 to 10 as the questions get harder.

Five divisions, Years 3 to 12

Each paper is 30 questions, as on the day: 25 with five choices, then 5 where your child types a whole number from 0 to 999. Marks rise from 3 to 10, and every question is explained afterwards.

It does not publish a list of topics, so the mix of question types inside each paper is our own, from the kinds of problems the competition is known for.
