For Grade 4 and 7 students in British Columbia
BC FSA practice
Students in Grades 4 and 7 in British Columbia write the Foundation Skills Assessment at school in the fall. It has an online literacy task and an online numeracy task of 30 questions each, a numeracy task on paper, and written answers that the school marks. Results go to families and schools; they do not count toward report card marks.
Our FSA-style practice has both online tasks for each grade, 30 questions each, new every time a task starts and in Canadian English. The written parts are marked by teachers on the real assessment, so we leave those out.

- When is the FSA written?
- In the fall, at school, on dates the school sets inside the Ministry's window.
- Does the FSA count?
- No. It does not count toward report card marks. It shows families and schools how a student is doing in reading and math.
- Is it free?
- A free account includes 3 practice tests to write. The pack (CA$49, in Canadian dollars) opens unlimited tasks for both grades, with which questions were right, the right answers and a worked solution for each.
The Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) is run by British Columbia's Ministry of Education and Child Care. Scholar Tests is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Ministry or any school district. Our questions are written by us; they are not FSA questions, and a practice score is not an FSA result or a prediction of one.
