For families in Vietnam
Maths competition practice, in English
Many children in Vietnam sit international maths competitions in English: the Kangaroo contest (IKMC) and ASMO among the best known. Both reward the same skills: reading a problem carefully, spotting a pattern, and reasoning without a long calculation. Our practice papers are free to start, new every time, and in English.

Five habits that win marks
- Read every word of the question twice: most contest mistakes come from reading too fast.
- Draw a picture or a table before you calculate anything.
- If a question takes more than three minutes, mark it and come back to it.
- Nothing is taken off for a wrong answer in the Kangaroo contest, so answer every question.
- Check the English words of a question you are unsure of: contests use a small set of maths words again and again.
IKMC (the International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest), ASMO and SASMO are run by their own organisers, and Scholar Tests is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. Our questions are written by us in each contest's style.
