How Quest's papers work
Quest publishes a practice booklet for each subject: 20 questions in 20 minutes, answered on a paper answer sheet, usually with five choices, A to E. A child can skip a question and come back to it. Each area then puts the subjects together into its own papers, so check the test details for yours below.
Two things differ in ours. Some of Quest's questions ask for two answers, a few with six choices; ours always have one answer. And Quest's fold-and-cut shape question is not in ours yet.

Questions parents ask
- Who writes Quest's 11+ tests?
- Quest Assessments, part of Atom Learning. It writes the 11+ for several grammar schools and areas, and more are moving to it from GL Assessment for their next tests.
- Is this Quest's own practice?
- No. Every question here is written by us in the shape of Quest's published booklets, and we are not connected with Quest Assessments or Atom Learning. Quest's own booklets are free on its website.
- How is Quest different from GL's 11+?
- The subjects are much the same, but Quest's practice papers are short, 20 questions in 20 minutes, and some questions ask for two answers. Each area combines the subjects its own way.
- How should my child practise?
- Sit one 20-minute paper at a time, then go through every question missed with the working. Short timed papers build the pace the real test needs.
